Doylestown AAUW
… “Helping Women and Girls Realize Their Potential”
AAUW Doylestown Branch was organized in 1958. Our charter was granted on May 20, 1958 with a membership of sixteen. Branch membership has now grown to 100+ members.
This branch of AAUW has long tradition of attempting to solve educational issues for women and girls. For example, in the early 1970′s it was a group of Doylestown Branch members who founded ‘Aid for Girls’, the organization that later became ‘Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bucks County’.

Annual AAUW Diner - June 5, 2013 Doylestown Country Club
Guest Speaker - Lisa Tremper Hanover, Director and CEO James A. Michener Art Museum
Please plan to join us for an enjoyable dinner meeting on June 5th at 5:30pm at Doylestown Country Club.
Following the installation of new officers and presentation of various awards, guest speaker Lisa Tremper Hanover will talk about her new position as Director and CEO at the Michener Art Museum and share some of her experiences in "An Art World Journey."
Hanover assumed her position in Doylestown last July. She came to James A. Michener Art Museum with a 25 year history as Director of the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College. Prior to that Hanover was the registrar for The Armand Hammer Foundation, Los Angeles, and was responsible for the documentation and travel of three major art collections to museums throughout the United States and abroad. She has juried over 60 art exhibitions and public art commissions and has presented over 200 public lectures to numerous professional and business organizations, school districts, and retirement communities.
